Duration of the khanate
[edit]The Chagatai Khanate split into two parts in the 1340s, the Western Chagatai Khanate and the Moghulistan (or the Eastern Chagatai Khanate), but as the main text of the article suggests, this does not mean that the khanate ended in the 1340s. So I have changed the end year in the infobox to show the durations of the whole khanate, western khanate and the eastern khanate separately. The book "Transnationalism in Ancient and Medieval Societies: The Role of Cross-Border Trade and Travel" (page 82) by Michael C. Howard for example considers the Chagatai Khanate to end in 1687, but I agree there are probably sources giving different end years (although I should have left this message before actually changing the article). --Evecurid (talk) 00:58, 17 March 2015 (UTC)
Successors
[edit]I recently added the Western Chagatai Khanate and the Moghulistan as successors of the Chagatai Khanate in the infobox because there were such articles. But the article Western Chagatai Khanate was deleted since then. Should it be kept as a successor to the Chagatai Khanate in the infobox of this article? Thanks for suggestions. --Evecurid (talk) 18:29, 20 March 2015 (UTC)

Possible Flag
[edit]I believe that the supposed flag of the Chagatai Khanate should be added to this article. It should, of course, be specified that it comes fr the Catalan Atlas in the caption. I’m only proposing this because the article for Ilkhanate has the supposed flag on there, and I think it would look good for the same to apply on this article as well. 296cherry (talk) 07:12, 3 December 2021 (UTC)
Middle Mongol and Chagatai names
[edit]These names doesn't appear anywhere, sounds like made up. Beshogur (talk) 17:20, 6 March 2023 (UTC)
